The most epic tour of the Himalayas that no one is talking about.
The Kashmir to Kathmandu circuit was first romanticised during the Hippie trails but what it offers today is a motorcycle adventure of truly Himalayan proportions.
The weather makes this circuit feasible only for 1 brief period every year. You need to time the start of the tour, so that the high altitude passes of Ladakh and Spiti do not get snowed in, and yet, you time it late enough that you don’t encounter the monsoon in Uttrakhand and Nepal.

In collaboration with Andy Strapz, we are the only company in the world that offers this tour and we only run 1 edition every year.
If you like this idea of long days in the saddle, with breathtaking mountain vistas and a landscape that changes and leaves you spellbound -every single day, the you are in the right place.
The terrain is rugged, the weather merciless (biting cold on some days, blistering heat on others and the ever present possibilities of snow or rain) and the riding can be quite tough- but the reward is massive.
Traversing the longest mountain range in the world is the best motorcycling adventure you could ever dream of.
Dates: 03rd to 27th October, 2026.
Fly to Srinagar, fly out Kathmandu.
We suggest you arrive a day early and allow 2-4 days at the end to explore exciting Kathmandu (maybe, even take an Everest flight) or allow for a delay contingency. This is wild country, delays due to weather, road damage or many other uncontrollable occurrences might challenge us.

Introduced through first person references, they had the chance to share the road on an exploratory tour of Western Nepal. Over the course of two weeks they had a chance to share some epic roads and over the evening banter found a connection that was deeper than a transactional motorcycle tour.
A shared passion for adventure and showcasing the most exciting and innovative products in a market cluttered by Generalist’s.
Together they decided to embark on this unique Himalayan adventure that showcases the land in an immersive, yet thrilling journey

Andy White, better known to Aussies as Andy Strapz, creator of Australian Made motorcycle travel gear since 1997.
Andy’s a lifetime rider, he never sold his bikes to buy a house. Being an early adopter of Dual-Sport riding, he believes it’s the only way to travel. Growing up on road bikes, he transitioned into Adventure bikes and never looked back.
A born raconteur, between riding and running a business, he’s found time to contribute to Aussie Media and dipping his boots in international motorcycle travels. He says, “ Teaming up with Hashim and Karma Yatri seems to be a perfectly natural progression in life’s journey”.

Hashim, the founder and Chief travel officer for Karma Yatri has been running motorcycle tours for the past 15 years and he spends his free time, riding through remote regions and imagining the most immersive motorcycle adventures that the sub-continent has to offer.

We start the tour in the capital city of Srinagar, experiencing the timeless hospitality and food of this troubled land.
It’s a soft start because the Himalayas are benevolent at this altitude and the start of the ride could be a little misleading, because of the beauty we are surrounded by. We traverse into the Greater Himalayas and it’s desert scape quite suddenly and the next few days unfold as we ride through remote valleys, crossing humongous glaciers, stunning stretches of tarmac and some epic off roads. We traverse the first 5000 M+ high altitude pass.
Leh is the staging point of this leg of our journey as we cross into Nubra valley, the high altitude lake of Pangong, the highest motorable road at Umling La. The most stunning bits of Ladakh (also quite touristy) are covered in this leg, but we tend to do it a little differently.
Leg 3 sees us start on the legendary Leh- Manali highway as we cross 5 passes, the edge of the Tibetean plateau and descend into the fertile valley of Lahaul. We continue onwards into high altitude territory as we cross Kunzum La and enter Kaza,Tabo, Cheecham and Nako. High altitude villages, narrow mountain trails and stunning views complete this leg in the alpine landscape of the lower Himalayas.
We now travel into the spiritual heartland of Hinduism, some of the most important places of worship and pilgrimage lie within this region. These are the Himalayas of Ruskin Bond and Rudyard Kipling, many of their stories taking place in this Himalayan state. We avoid the new highways and take older trails towards Nanda Devi base camp and our attempt at crossing into Nepal.
The final leg of our epic adventure could also be the most challenging because it’s just after the monsoons. Landslides, washed off roads and remote villages with very little infrastructure are the start point of our entry into Nepal. These are some of the remotest parts of Nepal and anything can happen. Closer to Dhorpatan (Nepals only hunting reserve) a semblance of normalcy returns and we finish our adventure with some well earned RnR in Pokhara and Kathmandu.
Cost: $9000USD (at present that’s around $13,750AUD).
While it seems a lot, remember – it’s all inclusive. Places are limited to enable the group to travel smoothly as a team.
A deposit of $500AUD paid (refundable up until 45 days prior to the trip) direct to Karma Yatri is required to secure your place. The balance due 45 days prior to the trip. T’s and C’s
Useful info – Once we get closer to heading off, more details/help will be supplied
We ride on the correct side of the road, yep, the left. Be prepared for some long riding days, that’s the point! Some days you’ll be leaving at 7am and having breakfast on the road.
Food is authentic local tucker and part of the immersion in local culture. Go with it, I did and really enjoyed it.
Riding gear – This is no place to skimp on safety, protective, waterproof gear that will cope with cold and hot conditions.
Boots – Proper protective ADV boots like Forma Terra EVO, Sidi Adventure, Alpinestar Corozal or similar. MX Boots with waterproof socks will work fine. There are days when your boots may be wet most of the time as you cross trickles (big and small) of water on mountain roads every few kilometres.
Gloves – Summer and Winter
Knee guards in pants or, better still, strapped on.
Armour – Airbags contraindicated at altitude. Body armour is a good idea. I plan to use soft body armour and a touring jacket, an MX Jersey for the hot days.
